Gunner is a 15 year old mini horse. He is often the face of Stable Steps and comes with us to events. He especially loves spending time with humans his size!

Roper is a 16.4 hands high Chesnut Gelding. He is super sweet and goofy. He loves to play with his buddies and is learning every day as he becomes more distinguished.

Ellie is an 11 year old Quarter Horse with parents that have many awards in the Western Pleasure show ring. She knows exactly what she wants very sweet - a mix of class and sass. She is known around the barn as the "Queen".

Cherokee is tried and true. He is confident, calm, and has a very long history of helping newcomers of the rodeo world learn the ropes. When he is not teaching those roping lessons, he loves being petted scratched and loved on.

Krystal Gleason, LMHC-D

 

Krystal is the founder of Stable Steps and has a lifelong passion for horses. In 2021, she was fortunate to welcome Ellie into her life, further inspiring her vision of incorporating equine-assisted services into mental health care.


As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with more than 10 years of experience, Krystal has worked with a diverse range of clients across various ages and backgrounds. For the past six years, she has been dedicated to bringing her dream of offering equine-assisted learning and psychotherapy to life for individuals who may benefit from an alternative, experiential approach to healing and personal growth.


Throughout this journey, Krystal has carefully built both her equine herd and a team of dedicated professionals who share her passion for compassionate, client-centered care. She is excited to offer this unique and meaningful therapeutic modality to the community, providing opportunities for healing, connection, and growth through the powerful partnership between people and horses.
